ABOUT CRISTIN
Cristin Espinosa is a content strategist and multimedia specialist with a passion for creative story telling and connecting with audiences.
Cristin calls Dallas, Texas home. She works as a content strategist at Southern Methodist Univeristy, where she oversees all digital properties under the Meadows School of the Arts, including websites, blogs, email newsletters, social media, and video content. One of the most rewarding aspects of her job is leading a talented team of student workers and social media managers.
Cristin honed her leadership and content strategy skills as the digital producer for Think, a national radio show and podcast produced by KERA — North Texas’ PBS and NPR member station. She managed all social media content for Think, wrote blogs, mentored interns, and executed strategic content plans.
A natural storyteller and innovator, Cristin studied journalism as an undergraduate student at Southern Methodist University, with a minor in arts entrepreneurship. She took on exciting experiences at SMU, such as working as an editor and digital media producer for the university newspaper. During her last semester, she earned a fellowship reporting for The Dallas Morning News.
In December 2021, Cristin continued her passion for digital storytelling with a master's degree in media management. She decided to focus her studies on digital and social media. During her master's program, she produced three detailed research papers on Gen Z audiences and how they consume news on social media.
The Dallas Morning News offered Cristin fun assignments as a freelancer while she finished her master's. She reported stories on the Dallas food, arts, and entertainment scene that resonated with local audiences on digital platforms and in print.
When she's not scrolling through TikTok and Instagram, Cristin loves reading romance novels, watching true crime Netflix documentaries, and cuddling with her 12-year-old cat, Stella. (She's a senior, but sassier than ever.)
